American Airlines Adds More Flights To The Caribbean

American Airlines familiar logo may soon be seen more frequently in the Caribbean.

Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

American Airlines has filed a request for a new route from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico with the Department of Transportation.

They are requesting a seasonal launch for flights from Miami to Cozumel  starting this Fall 2013.

These flights would operate daily beginning November 21st, 2013 through till January 7th, 2014. Their plans are for their Boeing 737 150 seat planes to fly this route.

American also has plans for an Miami to St. Kitts daily flight schedule to 11 weekly flights, as well as boosting their New York to Antiqua  flights to daily service. These increases in service will also begin on November 21st, 2013.

It was just a few years ago when American Airlines decreased or discontinued many of their flight service to the Caribbean leaving the islands and tourist with very few ways to travel to and from the Caribbean.

Their departure from the area left travelers having to make 1,2 and sometimes 3 connections to get to some of the islands, especially those most southerly of the Caribbean islands groupings.

This is a good sign that tourism is returning to the Caribbean again.
