This resort has an aerial tramway that takes you on a 7 minute ride to nearly the top of Mt. Alyeska. There you will find an observation deck that gives you a breathtaking panoramic view of 7 different mountains, glaciers, streams, natural wooded areas full of spruce, and an abundance of wildlife.

The deck sits 2,300 feet above sea level and is perfect for a midday picnic or for viewing a spectacular sunset.

The area is also perfect for hiking, bird watching, exploring, berry picking in the summer months.

For the more adventurous there is hiking on a near by glacier or paragliding off of the mountain. The resort itself also maintains ski runs during the winter & spring seasons.

There are telescopes that are mounted on the Glacier Terminal viewing deck that have been said to intensify the most spectacular view in the United States.

The tramway operates year around but is most popular in the summer and fall due to the flock of visitors due to the milder weather.
